From your own experiences, tell us about a significant moment or event in your personal or professional life that shaped your perspective around aging.

I’m not thinking of a particular moment or event, but a research project in which I participated concerning the side effects of medication on elderly people. 100 participants aged over 85 participated in the research and answered our questions during two hour-long individual interviews. Although it wasn’t at the heart of the research project, the notion of mourning seemed like a recurring theme of aging, to different extents: the loss of our job, of our driver’s licence, of our mobility, of a loved one, of our vision, of our autonomy, of our credibility, of our sense of usefulness… This proximity with over a hundred aging people brought to light the collection of mourning that they had to go through...
